Scaphoid Fracture

Scaphoid fractures may not show immediately on X‑ray. We protect the wrist/thumb, repeat imaging or order MRI/CT as needed. Timely care reduces risk of nonunion.

Thumb spica splint/cast, activity modification; close follow‑up.

Healing varies 6–12+ weeks; smokers/diabetics may heal slower.

Bracing & Splints; Cast Care; Physical Therapy

Small wrist bone fracture that can be missed on initial X‑ray—needs careful follow‑up.

Screw fixation if displaced/unstable or delayed healing.

Thumb‑side wrist pain after a fall, tenderness in the ‘snuffbox’.

Persistent pain, increasing swelling, numbness, fever—contact us.
