Dr. Mina Garrett-Scott, M.D.

Mina Garrett-Scott, MD is a former resident of Egg Harbor Township, NJ. She attended the University of Maryland, School of Medicine and graduated in 2003. She completed her residency in Family Medicine at the University of Maryland, Department of Family and Community Medicine in Baltimore. Dr. Garrett-Scott also completed a year of fellowship training, exploring primary care research, faculty development and public health. Her research interests included maternal and child health and issues surrounding adolescent pregnancy. She has worked in outpatient primary care for 22 years and was named one of the Washingtonian Magazine Top Docs in 2025. She has a passion for women’s health and loves optimizing chronic conditions like hypertension and diabetes. She enjoys motivating and encouraging her patients to invest in their health. She also enjoys public speaking, community health education and health advocacy. She is currently serving as a private practice family physician in Northern Virginia and is board-certified in Family Medicine.

Dr. Garrett-Scott will be opening- Next Journey Health and Wellness- in the Fall 2025. This private practice will allow her to treat the whole family, accepting most insurance plans. She will also offer “wellness packages” for patients are seeking more extensive treatment plans surrounding weight management, menopause and hormone management and lifestyle optimization. She works hard to teach patients how to best care for themselves based on research and her expertise, always considering patients’ individual health goals. She lives in Northern Virginia with her husband, Dr. Frederick D. Scott, Jr. -owner of Next Journey Orthopaedics-and her two children. She is an active member of the Mount Pleasant Baptist Church of Herndon, serving on the Health Ministry, using her expertise, bringing medicine to the community. She is excited to collaborate with Dr. Frederick Scott, Jr., at Next Journey, helping patients on their own personal journeys to wellness providing a multi-specialty, complete care experience to reach their health goals.
