What to Do After an ER Visit for an Orthopedic Injury

ChatGPT Image Oct 7, 2025, 05_24_35 PM.png

If you’ve visited an emergency room or urgent care for an orthopedic injury, following these steps will help ensure a smooth transition to your follow‑up care with Next Journey Orthopaedics.

Collect Your Imaging

Before leaving the emergency department, request a disc or digital copy of any imaging related to your injury. Bringing these images to your orthopaedic appointment helps our team diagnose and treat you effectively.

  • X‑ray

  • CT scan

  • MRI

  • Ultrasound

Schedule Your Follow‑Up

After you have your imaging, contact our office to book an appointment. Privia patients can book online. You can also call our office during business hours or text after hours:

Prepare for Your Appointment

To help us provide the best care, please bring the following items to your visit:

  • Photo ID and insurance card

  • A list of current medications and allergies

  • Your imaging disc or reports

  • Comfortable clothing that allows easy examination of the injured area

Self‑pay patients can select HealthMe for transparent pricing options.

Is This a Work Injury?

If your injury is work‑related, please let us know when scheduling so we can coordinate with your employer or workers’ compensation carrier.
