Deltoid Strain

Pain/tenderness over the deltoid after overuse or sudden load. Usually resolves with rest, NSAIDs, ice and short PT.

Pain with resisted shoulder abduction; focal tenderness; mild swelling/bruising.

Relative rest; gentle stretching; progressive strengthening of deltoid and scapular stabilizers.
